We are starting small. Respect, privacy and human control belong in the design from day one.
1. Dignity and equal treatment
Our ambition is guided by internationally recognised human rights, including the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. Yorn must not be used for exploitation, hate, threats, trafficking, child abuse or unlawful discrimination. Private preferences are not a licence to exclude people illegally.
2. Expression, privacy and human control
We want people to express their interests and set boundaries without publishing sensitive conditions. That goal includes respecting other people's privacy and safety. A proposed match should open a conversation with the person's permission, not replace consent or make a final consequential decision. AI agents must respect the same boundaries as humans.
3. How we intend to build
We aim to minimise unnecessary data, keep rules understandable and make the interface usable across devices and languages. We will evaluate misuse and discriminatory effects as the product develops. These are commitments guiding an early product, not claims of a completed audit, certification or a large moderation programme.
4. Reporting and being heard
Report a concern or request a review at support@yorn.si, including the relevant page, what happened and the outcome you are asking for. Share only the information needed; never send illegal material. A team member will review the context and you can reply with further information or challenge our response. If we restrict access, we aim to explain why where lawful and safe. We do not yet publish transparency reports or promise a fixed response time.
A question, a concern, a very good idea?
Write to the team. Privacy requests, reports and appeals all reach us here.
